God Isn't Finished With You Yet

God isn't finished with you yet.

This is a phrase I have heard a lot while growing up in a Christian home and I have always heard it but never fully paid close attention to it until today.

"Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." (Philippians 1:6)

God is doing a good work in you! In our walk with God we are never going to be completely perfect, or completely on fire with God without temptation. As Christians we feel as if we have to be perfect all the time and we are never allowed to make mistakes. If we make a mistake and people are informed of it, we can be considered a hypocrite. What Jesus wants is our heart and our full devotion to him. He doesn't expect us to be perfect or to never make a mistake, he expects us to give all of our struggles and temptation to him. We know that all of our sins are forgiven because Jesus died on the cross for us and paid our ultimate punishment. Even though we know this, we still feel the constant need to never fail. Failing our God is not a fun feeling and personally makes me feel sick to my stomach. We will always sin as long as we are here on earth and we will always make mistakes but our faith and walk with God needs to be a constant progression. God is with us the whole time and will never leave us nor forsake us. He is literally with us every step of the way and wants to do good work in us. He can use us in many great ways if we allow him to. God isn't finished with you and he will not be finished until Jesus comes back. Our God desires us and longs to build a relationship with us, how amazing is that?! The creator of the universe wants to get to know me and wants a relationship with me and is not finished with me until Jesus comes home!

Constant growth and involvement in Gods word is extremely important to have a relationship with him. Whether you have been a christian for 5 days, 5 years, or 15 years God is not finished with you and he will do good works in you! Share with him your fears, anxiety, hopelessness, shame, happiness, loneliness, and confusion. Talk to him and grow in your relationship with him. He will never leave you nor forsake you, he will never give up on you!

"Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart." (Psalm 37:4)

God isn't finished with you yet. He pursues you.
